In her project “Women Bodies”, French photographer Cécile André, utilizes the timeless medium of 120 mm film to capture the essence of feminism through various facets and to invite us to engage in a dialogue about gender equality and female empowerment. André adopts a playful and thought-provoking approach, encouraging viewers to reconsider feminism from a fresh perspective. She considers the human body as a work of art, transforming it into a living painting that symbolizes the strength and beauty of women while highlighting their diverse experiences. By showcasing the human form as a powerful artistic medium, she emphasizes the significance of embracing and celebrating the multifaceted nature of womanhood.
I chose to illustrate different notions of feminism in a playful way in order to convey a message, through simple words.
