Charlotte Edey is a London artist specialising in hand-drawn illustration across card, ceramics, concrete and copper. Following her Foundation year at Chelsea School of Art & Design in 2011, she has worked with clients ranging from Vogue, Orange & Monica Vinader to London Design Festival, The Other Art Fair & Designersblock.
In the last year her work has been exhibited at The Oxo Tower, Somerset House, The Old Truman Brewery & The Arnolfini alongside galleries in New York, Philadelphia and Moscow.
“I would describe my artwork as lightly surreal, exploring the themes of femininity, fluidity and sensuality within exaggerated and impossible spaces. The works are physical in their suggestion of movement and playfully tactile in their subject matter, from ooze and liquid to skin. For me, they are explorations of curiosity, unearthing the uncanny in the recognisable.”
