For a young Latina, a well adorned communion dress is a rite of passage. This collaboration between New York artists Kimari Hazward and Andrea Granera is a bold and playful re-contextualization of the hyper-feminity in Latinx culture. The poses and angles attempt to challenge the societal norms for a young girl. This re-claiming of the feminine archetype frees us to express all sides of ourselves through it.
