Elisa Osols is a documentary photographer based between France and Portugal, whose main inspiration comes from travelling. This series was taken at a trans party in Tokyo on NYE 2013.
I remember telling myself back then that I’ve never been to a party like this. The space was packed with people who enjoyed being themselves freely no matter what gender or age. Especially seeing seniors having a blast was something else. Today, I feel like having been to that party was special because those parties were still underground in Tokyo. It’s funny to me to look at these pictures as I’ve evolved photographically speaking within a decade, not only were they shot with a digital camera and I mostly shoot analog now, they also seem naive. What remained the same is my curiosity and joy of documenting what happens around me.
