Buenos Aires-based photographer and filmmaker, Victoria Ocampo, uses her lens to question identity, femininity, and social constructs. Ocampo works in fashion and music videos but turns to portraiture to explore deeper themes: the body, sexuality, and self-awareness.
Her series Expanding Bodies captures a woman interacting with eggs, transforming into a creature part-human, part-animal as feathers emerge. The egg symbolizes temporality and the pressures of fixed identity. Through this transformation, Ocampo challenges rigid definitions of femininity, suggesting identity as fluid and in constant dialogue with the world. Ocampo’s process is playful, a dialogue with people and objects, pushing the limits of representation. With Expanding Bodies, she invites viewers to consider the endless potential of the body beyond societal roles.
