Lila Barth is a medium format photographer currently living in New York City. She graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology with her BFA in photography.
“This series titled Gail’s Girls is a study of femininity through two generations. Using expired 120mm film and a variety of editing techniques I attempted to cast these women as characters in a more imaginary world. Through the lack of male influence we see them adopting more masculine poses and characteristics, but retaining a feminine quality in the softness of the images and their color schemes. Making the mundane seem dreamlike gives the subjects a stoicism in their expressions and their reflections through the lens.“
