Liza Mehlfeldt, born in Berlin and raised in Norway since childhood, currently resides in Oslo. Her artistic journey, deeply rooted in personal discovery and identity, is profoundly influenced by her relocation from Berlin to the West Coast of Norway at the age of six. This significant move, symbolized by the 1551 kilometers between her childhood homes, ignited her quest to uncover her Norwegian identity, a journey that continues to shape her perspective. With a BA in Art Direction and a higher professional degree in Photography, Liza’s work delves into themes of introspection and the complexities of self-discovery. At 26, driven by an intense longing to rediscover her German roots while being captivated by Norway’s enchanting wilderness, she seeks to unravel the profound bond between her soul and the land. Her current project reflects this exploration, using photography to position herself within Norway’s pristine landscapes, probing the essence of her Norwegian identity forged during her formative years.
