Maren Langer is a filmmaker, creative director and stylist, based in Berlin. During her studies in fashion design and visual communication at the Berlin University of the Arts as well as Filmmaking at Pratt Institute New York, she developed her multidisciplinary approach of bringing all these mediums together to tell a story.
Her video “Blame it on my wild heart” is a conceptual fashion film, featuring a collection from Momme Ries, recent UDK graduate. It features the narration of one of many girls in a state between searching and finding, in between total boredom and fading dreams.
“As an artist, I mostly deal with youth and sub culture as well as young girls everyday life, dreams and fears. Currently my main interest lies in fashion film and documentary, which I write, produce, direct, style and edit on my own. I like to combine honest reality with scripted fiction in non-linear forms. But I don’t try to write any messages or meanings into my work, my aim is to put the audience into a certain atmosphere of emotions we all experienced.”
