Rachael Tarravechia is a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in painting and minoring in illustration.
“With my artwork, I primarily focus on the figure, pattern, perspective, and text. By combining these four aspects in various ways, I get layered and dynamic compositions, and i am able to approach a painting with different options. The colors are peachy and soft, yet vibrant and bold. The patterns are flat and systemic, but also in perspective and organic. The text is sarcastic and bitter, but sadly relatable. All of these pieces of the paintings even look like stickers that have been stuck on the canvas, and are outlined with a bright cobalt blue. Even though there are aspects in the paintings that are very different from each other, the differences work harmoniously together.“
