Rosita Uricchio is an Italian illustrator based in Berlin, whose work is connected to freedom of being whoever you like to be. Her project ‘Urban jungle’ features a series of metropolitan portraits of Berlin people.
“I was always fascinated with the idea that Berlin was a city of freedom. I think I got this idea through books, movies and friends who already lived there. 2 years ago I decided to move there and honestly my expectations were more than satisfied. I have lived in different places and I realize that the only place where I really feel home is Berlin. I love the colorful people there! Some say it’s a grey city, but its people make the city an amazing combination of colors. That’s something that inspires me a lot. Those portraits are from people I saw in the Berlin metro or street. I love their way to identify themselves without any rule or fear.”
