Solène Ballesta is a french photographer based in Tokyo. The series “Dragon Fruit”, featuring activist and model Mochi Emy, explores body positivity, natural beauty and empowerment, with a touch of surrealism.
We’ve been working together for a long time, since we met in Paris years ago. We moved to Japan together and I can’t stop photographing her beauty, strenght and infinite nuances of femininity. She recently got a dragon tattoo, an animal that totally represents her, so we made portraits around the concept of “dragon woman”, “dragon drawing” and “dragon fruit”.
